Merry Christmas

This was Keegans "real" first Christmas. Last year at this time he was 6 days old and slept the whole day. This Christmas was a lot different than last year! Its amazing what a difference 1 year can make!

Christmas 2010

We spent the first part of our Christmas vacation in Greensboro with my family. While we were there, Keegan spent a lot of time chasing my mom's cats, Maddie and Abbey all over the house. He is very fast when he is crawling so he had a good time going after the cats, though I don't think the cats enjoyed it too much!

Christmas morning Keegan woke up a the crack of dawn, also known as 6AM (as usual). Since that was just a little too early for his aunts and uncles to get up, we kept him entertained until about 7:30 when Keegan woke everyone up with a "serenade" on the piano and the guitar. He decided to create his own "one man band" with the piano and guitar since they were right next to each other. He kept stepping between the piano and the guitar and playing a few notes on each, not sure which one he liked better. Needless to say, this woke the rest of the house up.

Once everyone was up, it was time for Keegan to see what Santa Claus had left for him. This was Keegan's first visit from Santa Claus so he wasn't quite sure what was going on. We let him crawl into the den at my parents house on his own to see what he would do. He came in and stopped and looked around for a minute (there was a lot to take in, new toys, lots of presents, shiny Christmas tree, fire in the fire place, cats...) He finally went over to his new Little People Farm House, but only for a minute until he saw his very own guitar (toy guitar, not a real one). He loved that guitar! He played with his guitar some and checked out the other things Santa left for him: a toy drum & a big activity cube. We let Keegan unwrap a few presents and check out his stocking before he had to go take his morning nap.

While he napped, we had breakfast and opened presents to/from each other with my family. Once Keegan woke up from his nap we let him open a few more presents and fed him lunch. Just before time for his afternoon nap more family arrived. Also around this time, it began to snow and we had a wonderful White Christmas.  Keegan napped while we ate lunch then once he woke up we all opened more presents all together and the snow kept falling. Keegan seemed to enjoy opening the presents, by the end of the day, he was a pro at ripping paper and tissue paper off and throwing it on the floor. He liked to "help" everyone open their gifts too. One of his favorite gifts of the day was his Baby Tickle Me Elmo. He grins and laughs every time he sees it.

I want to help you Weezie!

After the long day, Keegan slept well that night! The next morning we woke up to 6 inches of snow on the ground! So of course we had to take Keegan out in the snow.

Monster Mittens!

After playing in the snow we packed up and headed to Matthews to spend time with Justin's family. We got to spend some nice time with Mimi and Papa, as well as Jeremy, Joni and Grandma and Grandpa.
