  • Books: any book with trucks in it
  • Toys: Horse and Cow from his Little People Farm Animals, stuffed kitty
  • Activities: going to the pet store...Keegan LOVES animals!

Things I don't want to forget:
  • Keegan has discovered that if he pushes the button on the fridge, water will come out, thus demonstrating to us the reason for the child lock feature! However, one time it wasn't locked and Keegan pushed and got wet. So he grabbed a paper towel (which were right next to him) to dry his face off! Smart boy!  (3.28.11)
  • When Keegan sees kleenex, paper towels or toilet paper he reaches for it and "blows" his nose.
  • One day (3.30.11) I was making a cake for our small group and Keegan was "helping" me. When he saw the batter in the mixer he insisted on being picked up to see what it was. When he saw it, he immediately started going "mmmmmmm, mmmmm". I think he remembered when I let him lick a beater from his birthday cake icing. After the cake was in the oven, I turned on the oven light so he could watch. He stood there going "mmmmm, mmmm" and smacking his lips. Once the cake was done, Keegan again thought it looked pretty yummy so he was going "mmmmm, mmmm" but this time signing "please eat please eat" so I gave in and gave him some....big mistake, he wanted "more please eat, more please eat"!
  • We have begun to wean off of breastfeeding starting at the beginning of April. This is a bittersweet process for me. I have loved having that close bond that breastfeeding creates between mother and baby and am thrilled at how long we were able to go. I know how good it has been for him nutritionally (and good for our wallets!) and am proud of our accomplishment with the difficult task that it is. Nobody warned me how hard it was in the beginning so I feel a sense of accomplishment to say  we made it 16 months. I feel like it is time to close this chapter but I already miss our special time where he still seemed like he was still my baby and not this little boy he is quickly turning into.
